We like Laguna for the way it holds the coast at a slower register than the rest of Southern California. Mornings begin in mist and salt air, the cliffs turn rose-gold at dusk, and the village keeps a pace that was decided by the painters who arrived in 1917. The homes we steward in Laguna Beach cluster within a few blocks of each other in North Laguna, on Sleepy Hollow Lane and Gaviota Drive, all an easy walk to Crescent Bay, Shaw's Cove, and the village.
