A State Shaped by Two Coasts and Everything Between
Florida is not one destination. It is the Atlantic on one shore and the Gulf on the other, the Keys reaching almost to Cuba, the Panhandle stretching west toward Alabama, and a great green centre of cypress, citrus, and chain lakes that most travellers fly over without seeing.
Our home in Clermont sits in that great green centre, in a gated community on the south side of town, fifteen minutes from Disney by car and a short drive from Lake Louisa State Park. From there, the rest of the state opens up in long, easy directions. Two hours west is the Gulf at Clearwater. Six hours south is the start of the Overseas Highway. Five hours northwest is the sugar sand of 30A. Florida rewards travellers who pick a base, settle in, and let the days unspool from the front door of a real house with a private pool.
